This Beautiful Future

This Beautiful Future

About The Show

Elodie is 17. She’s French. She finds reflective surfaces everywhere to test out new looks. Otto is 16. He’s a German soldier. He tries not to look at himself in the mirror.

Caught in the middle of a war, these two teenagers meet secretly for one night together as the world outside tears apart. Rita Kalnejais’ kaleidoscopic play asks us to consider the limits of empathy in a divided world. It seeks out tenderness amidst tragedy – hope in the hopeless.

Starring Tony-Award Nominee Austin Pendleton (The MinutesChoir Boy), Tony-Award Winner Angelina Fiordellisi, Francesca Carpanini (All My Sons), and Uly Schlesinger (HBO Max’s “Generation”), This Beautiful Future places us at the nexus of two generations falling in love – one reflecting on old memories, and the other aspiring to make new ones.

What We Did

OHenry Productions produced the North American Premiere of This Beautiful Future Off-Broadway.

What are the limits of empathy in the theater? This Beautiful Future dances precariously close to the edge. This dramatic jitterbug on the side of a cliff is what makes the play extraordinary. Only the most determined will walk away having felt nothing.

About The Show

Directed by Anthony Banks (The Girl on the Train, West End), this groundbreaking revival of Coxon’s “brave, brutal” (Guardian) play utilized the technical feats that adventurous theater artists had discovered during the COVID-19 pandemic and combined them with the raw intimacy of in-person performance. This first-of-its-kind, transcontinental event featured two actors performing for an in-person audience on Soho Theatre’s (Fleabag) London stage with a third actor performing live via video from New York. The production, simultaneously accessible online to audiences across the globe via Stellar and in-person in London via Soho Theatre, marked a new type of international collaboration.

Starring Jassa Ahluwalia (UnforgottenPeaky Blinders), Greg Germann (Grey’s AnatomyAlly McBealAssassins), and Drama Desk nominee Sophie Melville (PopsIphigenia in Splott), Herding Cats by Lucinda Coxon (The Danish Girl) is a chillingly funny play about a generation negotiating intimacy and independence in the 21st century. Meeting the demands of modern life is as impossible as herding cats for Justine, Michael and Saddo. To deal with work, Justine talks – a little too much – to her roommate Michael who earns a living by chatting with strangers like Saddo. But all three will soon find that in a cold, disconnected world, words may not be enough.

What We Did

OHenry Productions was the producer of both the on-stage and on-screen production.

David Byrne’s American Utopia

Production Website

About The Show

Following a sold-out world tour, the acclaimed theatrical concert played Broadway’s intimate Hudson Theatre, followed by a return engagement in Broadway’s St. James Theatre.

DAVID BYRNE’S AMERICAN UTOPIA delivers “an experience unlike anything else” (Billboard) and marks a major cultural milestone in the worlds of music and theater. Innovative pop/rock icon David Byrne (Talking Heads, Here Lies Love) shares the spotlight with a diverse ensemble of 11 musical artists from around the globe.

With staging and choreography by Annie-B Parson, and with Alex Timbers serving as production consultant (his collaborators on Here Lies Love), David Byrne and ensemble deliver “a marvel of staging and motion” (Chicago Tribune) that’s as surprisingly poignant as it is supremely funky. Don’t miss this “thought-provoking example of the power of live music” (Forbes).

About The Show

It’s called a Squip. A tiny supercomputer inside a pill. Swallow one and a personalized voice will tell you how to dress, how to speak, how to… become cool.

Jeremy Heere is your average, nothing-special teenager at Middleborough High in nothing-special New Jersey… until the day he finds out about “The Squip.” Thus begins a journey that pits Jeremy’s desire to be popular against his struggle to remain true to his authentic self. Be More Chill is an honest, edgy, super-hilarious look at coming of age in the digital age, set to some of the most exciting songs in contemporary musical theater. This original musical comedy looks at modern issues like depression, bullying, and anxiety through the lens of sci-fi films of the 50s, horror flicks of the 80s, and teen movies of the 90s. Little Shop of Horrors meets The Breakfast Club in this celebration of outcasts, teenaged or otherwise. Based on the cult sensation novel by Ned Vizzini, Be More Chill is already beloved by millions of theater fans because of its best-selling Billboard Top 10 cast recording.

Come see us on Broadway in February 2019. It’s what your Squip would tell you to do.

About The Show

Tony, Olivier, Emmy and Golden Globe winner Bryan Cranston (“Breaking Bad,” All the Way) makes his triumphant return to Broadway in the National Theatre’s sold-out, critically acclaimed production of Network.

In Lee Hall’s adaptation of Paddy Chayefsky’s Academy Award-winning film, anchorman Howard Beale (Cranston) unravels live on-screen. But when the ratings soar, the network seizes on its newfound prophet, and Howard becomes the biggest thing on TV.

Cranston won the 2018 Olivier Award for his tour-de-force performance. Tony and Olivier winner Ivo van Hove (A View From the Bridge) directs this brilliantly innovative and electrifying production, also starring Tony Goldwyn (“Scandal”) and Emmy Award winner Tatiana Maslany (“Orphan Black”). Ben Brantley of The New York Times raves, “Network thrills. It feels as pertinent to our time as it did to its own.”
